Our Easter, term 1 Program.

Nervous and excited, the KICS students waited in the classroom for the moment when they would step out in front of the waiting parents. While programs, plays, and performances are normal in most American schools, PNG students rarely have these opportunities. After our 45-minute program of songs, oral reports, a 20-verse Bible memory passage, poetry readings, and a skit, the students’ faces lit up with smiles. They had done well. Parents quickly joined their children for a tour of the classroom and to look over the past 10 weeks of work. One parent asked, “Are you planning to do a program every term?” “Yes,” we happily explained. Planning for the end-of-term program keeps us focused and gives the kids something to look forward to. Each student is learning to play guitar, and every week we work on art and science projects. It is good for students to know their hard work will be seen and appreciated.
