Each day counts. As we wrap up our first four weeks of school we think back on all the students have learned, experienced and done. Students have learned new songs finished up their first reading books, learned new skills in music and art, worked on the computers, cooked and tasted new foods, completed science projects, planted small gardens, cleaned up the road ways in the community, completed daily lessons in math, science, social studies, English, literature, and spelling. Many of our students have learned their alphabet in cursive. These may seem like small things. But, each day I am so thankful for the teachers who show up rain or shine and welcome their students joyfully and sincerely. They arrive early, pray for each other and the school and stay late to help students with homework or make preparations for the next day. Four weeks of school plus 4 dedicated staff equals 20 days of students hearing, “You matter, God loves you, and you are worth the best I have to give.”
