In January our four staff members traveled to Wewak to join participate in a few days of planning, prayer and preparation for our first year of full time operation at Keram International Christian School. It was good to get away from the village and focus on preparing our minds and hearts for the year ahead. We sewed patches on student shirts and bags, sewed our own uniforms, purchased student resources and made a drum box for our chapel mornings and assemblies, prepared the orientation schedule and made countless forms and documents to guide our work for the year. It was a busy few days. In addition we established a theme word for the year, “Glorify” a guiding memory verse (Matthew 5:16) and theme song and we took time to pray for our students and the materials we would share with them. As you prepare your child for school this year maybe you are washing and mending clothes, maybe you are buying them school resources, take a few minutes to pray for them and the school year before them. Pray for the teachers and the staff at your school at the school as well. We thank you for your prayers and support.
Deut 6:4-9 Hear, O Israel the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your should and with all your strength. These commandments that I give to you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Time them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
